We are a group of catholic laymen who believe it is possible to live combining two apparently opposite identities: to be catholic and gay, in the broad sense of the word, including all forms of sexual diversity (LGBT – Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transvestite/Transgender).

We seek to provide theological and pastoral assistance to help people reconcile these identities. We also aim to serve as a virtual community to bring people together and provide greater visibility to similar initiatives.

Diversidade Católica (Catholic Diversity) was founded in July 2006 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. We have, since then, been meeting on a monthly basis. Our stance is that of communion with the Holy Church.

We would like to promote an exchange of experiences with similar groups in other countries. For more information, you may contact us in either English, French, Spanish or German by e-mail at contato@diversidadecatolica.com.br.
